LPW - Unsigned Swiss, unusual leaf form pendant watch, 31mm width x 51mm from stem of leaf to top of bow, 18K gold (tested) original HC of unusual design and with hunting lid comprised of a magnificent polychrome enamel butterfly with inset opals, emerald and ruby, large pivoting bow with applied gemstones, white enamel dial with gold foil dot between hour numerals, SW-pin-set, cylinder escapement, 10J, gilt mvt, no visible mvt s#. Comes with a padded leather box marked for retailer W.S. Mackay of Dundee. Gross weight of assembled watch 23.6 dwt (36.7 g). An unusual and exquisitely beautiful piece, sure to please the connoisseur of unique pendant watches.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Ticking sluggishly, overhaul recommended, fair cosmetic mvt condition overall, numerous scratches to plates, oxide to steelwork, some toning to portion of balance wheel and perimeter areas of plates, regulator is missing; dial with perimeter fractures between 2 and 3; fair hands with oxide and finish loss; case shows very little wear, dings and shallow denting to rear and cuvette, good engraving detail; bow pivots freely, three gemstones on bow have been applied seemingly with glue and a fourth appears to have once been present but is now missing, crown shows very little wear; as-made with no crystal; box shows light exterior wear, some finish loss at edges.
